WAW Youth Theatre Launches in January!

The new year sees new opportunities for young artists in Worcester, as the Worcester Arts Workshop prepares to launch its new youth theatre in January for young people aged 13-18.

The Youth Theatre is a partnership project between WAW and CAGED Arts, and you don’t have to be a budding actor to get involved.

‘We’re building a space where anyone interested in the arts can join us and help shape what we make,’ says Heidi Murphy from CAGED Arts, ‘the young people who join us will have a huge part in creating something special. If you want to have a go at rapping, we’ll find a rapper to run a workshop; if you don’t want to act, but you love painting – come along and help design some sets. We’re building a family of young creatives and the best way to do that, is ask young people what they want to do.’

The group is supported by BBC Get Creative, and is the start to an exciting year at the Arts Workshop over 2017, which will see development and growth for the organisation.

The Worcester Arts Workshop Youth Theatre starts 15th January 2017, 19:00-20:30, with a free session supported by BBC Get Creative and runs every Wednesday during term time. For more information or to book please get in touch on info@worcesterartsworkshop.org.uk or 0190525053

Starbuck Theatre Company Presents ‘Next Thing You Know’

Coming to the Worcester Arts Workshop on Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd: ‘Next Thing You Know’ – A Musical Comedy
Following on from their last show, a UK Premier and a sell out run at the London Fringe with 4 Star reviews, Starbuck Theatre Company bring their next show “Next Thing You Know” back to their home city.
From the writers of ‘I Love You Because’ comes another romantic musical comedy that looks at a time in life where one day you wake up, and instead of a hangover, you have a job. Instead of a fling, you have a live-in girlfriend. And instead of naïve dreams, you have reality. ‘Next Thing You Know’ is the story of four New Yorkers waking up from their invincible twenties and confronting adulthood in the city that never sleeps. See it in Worcestershire, before it transfers to the London Fringe in August.
Performance starts at 7.30pm.

‘Launch Party’ Comes to Worcester Arts Workshop

On the On Friday 18th November at 7.30pm we have our first Shindig event of the Season.

Farnham Maltings and Bucket Club present ‘Launch Party’ a hilarious, moving, musical feast by a multi award-winning theatre company that will make you think about the meaning of home, and how, sometimes, we need to leave.

‘When I look at my life on earth, it’s brilliant, I love it, I love you, but… it’s small. And this is a chance to make my life big.’

Martha and Vi are twins. They grew up side by side, watching the stars, but recently they’ve drifted. While Martha has stayed in their home village, laying down roots, Vi has been across the globe training as an astronaut, preparing to launch herself into the unknown.

Before Vi blasts off, Martha has arranged a party in the village hall to send her off in style – and you’re invited.

A playful new show with innovative live music about family, space exploration and how we carry our home with us by multi award-winning theatre company Bucket Club.
