If one says a film, like Under the Shadow, was the scariest movie “someone” saw in 2016, such comment would invite pantomime-like responses: “oh, no it isn’t!” So I won’t say this supernatural thriller set in Tehran during the height of the Iran-Iraq war, where a mother and young daughter struggle to cope with the terror of almost nightly bombardments, while also haunted by a malevolent spirit, is the scariest film of the year, but, like The Babadook, it’s damn scary!
Tickets £5 on the door. Café Bliss will be open before the screening for light refreshments.
