For over thirty five years Worcester Arts Workshop has been running art, craft and pottery courses for adults. Come along and experience them for yourself. Class sizes are limited, so booking in advance is crucial.

Ceramics
with Kay Mullett

This is a ceramics workshop for everyone. Experiment with clay using a variety of techniques, including the potter’s wheel, hand building, decoration and glazing.

Ceramics and pottery
with Tamara Carse

Want to try something new? An open course suitable for all level and anyone who would like to learn or develop different techniques working with clay. The emphasis is on hand building, helping you to design and finish 3D objects using slips and glazes. Spaces limited.

An Introduction to Portrait Oil Painting
with Francesca Currie

Receive an introduction into portrait oil painting by learning about the basic palette, mediums, painting technique, how start a painting, and how to bring life to a portrait. Designed for beginners but suitable for intermediates seeking a ‘refresher’.

Molly is inspirational and offers a wealth of experience which is why people come back term after term. All are welcome to this friendly and enthusiastic class, where you will be encouraged to pursue your individual style to discover the artist in you.

Portrait drawing
with Andrew Clacher

Discover the challenging Art of Portraiture, with artist Andrew Clacher. Working with a professional model, students will learn how to ‘capture a likeness’ using careful observation and an understanding of proportion, form and light. Beginners as well as more experienced artists welcome. Course size limited to ten people, please book early to reserve your place.

Life drawing
with Andrew Clacher

Sign up quickly for this extremely popular course. Learn basic observational skills, work with a variety of life models and develop your own drawing. Beginners and experienced artists welcome. Booking in advance is essential.

Hand building ceramics
with Kitty Cazes

Beginner and intermediate pottery course to learn hand building and glazing techniques to create unique pottery items with Kitty, a local clay artist with 20 years of experience..

Fused glass
with Jane Essery

A wonderful chance to learn the art of kiln formed glass, using bullseye transparent, opal iridescent glass. You will learn how to cut glass, add inclusions and create voids and bubbles. Throughout the course you will gain and understanding of the materials, techniques and processes involved, producing numerous pieces of your work..

Watercolour (beginners)
with Andrew Clacher

A fun and practical course, focusing on the basics of watercolour painting. Watercolour, gouache and pencil will be used in this informative seven week course and is perfect for the beginner. Watercolour wash techniques, use of tone and colour mixing are just a few of the skills covered. Join up quickly as places are limited to only ten people.

When: Fridays, 12.45-2.45pm

Acrylics for Beginners and Intermediates
with Stella Ashmeade

Stella encourages confidence and energy in her students and wants to enable those with no experience to get creative. We will look at techniques, colour mixing/palettes and choosing surfaces and equipment through mini-projects. Stella is a Tewkesbury based artist and teacher with over 20 years’ experience of working with both children and adults. She gained a BEd (Hons) in Art & Design in Cheltenham and since then has worked in schools and studios, as well as owning her own mural painting business for a number of years. She exhibits her work and encourages her students to exhibit their own work, to gain confidence, once they feel ready. The course includes most materials, but you will need to bring cartridge paper and a couple of small canvases approx. 20cm x 15cm or 20cm x 20cm.
