Summer Ceramics Classes
with Kay Mullett

Summer Pottery Course Suitable for beginners and more advanced as projects are individual. Spend a day creating your own project from clay using hand building techniques; design, construct and decorate a unique ceramic piece with tutor Kay Mullett. This is a relaxed daylong session which will give you the opportunity to fully immerse yourself in the world of clay. Book onto both day courses and receive a discount, items created in the first workshop will be ready to glaze for the 2nd day workshop. There is a £10 discount for those that book onto both the July and August summer dates, the code for this is CWAWS and will only work when the 2 summer ceramics classes are in your basket.

Unleash the power of your camera! Learn from an experienced professional how to get amazing shots using whatever camera you have – even if it’s just the phone in your pocket. Get answers to your questions, demystify the advanced settings on your camera, and start capturing photos that you can amaze your friends, your family and yourself with!

An Introduction to Portrait Oil Painting
with Francesca Currie

Receive an introduction into oil painting. By painting a portrait, using a photo of one of your loved ones, you will be learning about the basic palette, mediums, painting technique, how to start a painting, and how to bring life to a portrait. Designed for beginners but suitable for intermediates seeking a ‘refresher’. Unlike many of our other courses there will be some preperation needed for the start of this course. This will include bringing your own photograph, canvas and brushes, exact details of these will be sent to you once you have booked on. Francesca if a figurative artist. She graduated from Norwich University College of the Arts in 2012 and went on to study figurative work at the London Atelier Representational Art, giving her the tools she needed to set up her independent practice in 2015. Since then she has painted the Official Portrait of The Bishop of Worcester, become an Associate of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists (with submission for membership in April), had her work shown at the Mall Galleries London, and taken on many private commissions. Copper Foil Stained Glass
with Helen Byrne

A beginner’s course aimed at those who are petrified by the thought of cutting glass, but love the characteristics that light has on items made from it! Join Helen who will take you through the stages of the copper foil (or Tiffany) technique to enable you to create some beautiful pieces of stained-glass work. Helen is a science teacher by training and has taught for 20+ years and caught the bug for stained-glass work after attending a day-course in 1990. Since that time she has produced many pieces and used her expertise to enthuse numerous students who, like herself have pursued their interest and are now very proficient and confident using glass. Helen is also involved in a wide range of creative mixed media artwork and has taught a number of these to a wide range of students. When? Thursday, 7-9pm

Portrait drawing

Discover the challenging Art of Portraiture, with artist Andrew Clacher. Working with a professional model, students will learn how to ‘capture a likeness’ using careful observation and an understanding of proportion, form and light. Fused glass course
with Sarah Cotterill and
Jane Essery

Tuesday with Sarah - A wonderful chance to learn the art of kiln formed glass in our beginners class, using bullseye transparent, opal and iridescent glass. You will learn to cut glass, add inclusions and create voids and bubbles. Throughout the course you will gain an understanding of the materials, techniques and processes involved, producing numerous pieces of your own work.

Wednesday with Jane - An intermediate class for those who have already completed the beginners class or who have learnt basic glass fusing techniques previously and wish to expand on their practice. This class will have a focus towards design and testing techniques, working towards a final piece/pieces of work. Some basic materials will be provided as well as an opportunity to order some specific glass for the final piece.

Watercolour (beginners)
