Admiring La Stupenda
September 17, 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Fresh from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2019, Daniel Somerville presents his performance-lecture come movement performance in a new full production, in association with Arch SixtyTwo.
An opera queen giving a talk about his favourite diva but straying off topic and dressing in improvised gowns, the performance touches on the diva, the opera queen, his mother, anxiety, sex, high notes and postmodernism.
At times camp and funny at others intense and poignant – you don’t have to know anything about, or even like opera to enjoy it, described as ‘something between a cheat sheet for University Challenge, the blue alien from Fifth Element and that time your dad did drag’ the work takes you on a journey into the world of a bygone LGBT+ identity and leaves you wondering where you can get your next opera fix.
Date/Time: Tues 17th September, 8pm
