Rock with Terror

November 2, 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm

This November, ‘The Librarian’ brings you two haunting tales from the archives of Weeping Bank Library, followed by music from Gothic Americana Country Duo, ‘Dark Circus’.

NOW I LAY ME DOWN TO SLEEP:
A young babysitter spends the evening in an old farmhouse that holds a sinister secret.

AN UNWISE PURCHASE:
All antiques come with a history, some more dreadful than others…

DARK CIRCUS
are Tim Jackson (guitar) and Clare Farrington-Stanley (vocals). Originally a 4 piece Rockabilly/Psychobilly band, they released an album ‘Lipstick Party Killer’ in 2015 on the Western Star label, and went on to play gigs around the country.

It was whilst the duo were working on an EP with Gavin Monaghan of The Magic Garden Studios it was suggested that the arrangement of their songs would be beautifully suited to the gothic/Americana genre.
Dark Circus perform mostly original material, although a couple of covers have crept in which have been subjected to the Dark Circus twist.

“Most of our songs are about really powerful stuff like betrayal, loss and unrequited love. The kind of experiences that we are all subject to, that really get right into the soul. It’s the human condition”
