Receive an introduction into portrait oil painting by learning about the basic palette, mediums, painting technique, how start a painting, and how to bring life to a portrait. Designed for beginners but suitable for intermediates seeking a ‘refresher’.

Francesca if a figurative artist. She graduated from Norwich University College of the Arts in 2012 and went on to study figurative work at the London Atelier Representational Art, giving her the tools she needed to set up her independent practice in 2015. Since then she has painted the Official Portrait of The Bishop of Worcester and the Official Portrait of The Sword bearer of Worcester. She has become a member of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists. She has had her work shown at the Mall Galleries London, Blue Tree Gallery York, and the Noott Gallery Broadway as well as taking on many private commissions.

Please bring with you

  • Brushes- a minimum of four brushes ideally size 0,2,4 suitable for oil painting. (Tutors preference is square long flat)
  • One 12x16inch (or similar) canvas or board ready for oil paint
  • Palette
  • One high quality image of a persons face, Ideally with lighting from one side. (as seen in image provided). Image can be provided if needed

Please note there’s no parking at Worcester Arts Workshop
